Living Room Plant Design
The living room is typically one of the first rooms that we welcome other people in. Not only the main public facing room of our home, it is also where we express our personal taste and style.
Indoor plants can have a wonderful welcoming effect in living rooms because they soften hard lines and break up patterns. Houseplants also have their pick of location in a living room,— coffee table, mantelpiece, bookshelf, hearth, corner, side table, and even hanging basket.
If you are interested in caring for an extra large plant, chances are the living room is the best seat in the house for your showstopper. Fiddle Leaf Fig, Monstera Deliciosa, Draceana, and Rubber Plants are all great picks for a featured living plant.
If your living room is more on the smaller side, opt for smaller plants with interesting containers that have texture (woven or ceramic) and patterns. You may opt to group them together in different sizes as a combo or line them up uniformly to create a sense of order.
Either way, at least one houseplant should have a home in the living room where all can enjoy!
